Indonesia eyes at a J 10 C aircrafts deal

Jakarta: JC10 Aircrafts have caught a global attention after Pakistan’s historical domination over India in war earlier this year.

Indonesia is eying a massive purchase of J 10 C Aircrafts from China.

According to the Chinese media, the Indonesian Defence Minister has said that his country aims to purchase J 10 C aircrafts from China.

If it happens, Indonesia will be the third country to avail the J 10 C aircrafts.

The treaty of purchasing J 10 C aircrafts will be Indonesia’s first move to buy the Chinese- built aircrafts which is the part of Indonesia’s plan to upgrade the military efficiencies.

Sajafri Siamsuddin . the Defence Minister of Indonesia, spoke to a national news outlet ‘We intend to purchase the J 10 C aircrafts soon. We will see them flying high on the Jakarta’s skies.’

However, he did not disclose any details about the time-frame or the delivery of the aircrafts.

Indonesia’s Finance Minister, Prabowo Yudi Sadewa, has confirmed that the ministry has approved $9 billion for the purchase of new fighter jets.

According to international media reports, Indonesia intends to acquire at least 42 J-10C aircraft.

The country’s Ministry of Defense had revealed the plan last month, with a spokesperson stating that Indonesia aims to equip its air force with “the best possible combat weapons.”

Local media further reported that the Indonesian Air Force is currently conducting a detailed evaluation of the Chinese-made J-10 series to ensure that their inclusion will significantly enhance the nation’s air defense capabilities.

The J-10 fighter jet, originally developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation in the 1980s, has evolved into the J-10C, a modern 4.5-generation multirole aircraft regarded as a flagship product of China’s defense industry.

The aircraft is equipped with an advanced engine, AESA radar, and PL-15 missiles.

Currently, Pakistan is the only country outside China operating the J-10C. Pakistan placed an order in 2020 for 36 J-10C fighter jets and 250 PL-15E missiles.

Reports indicate that the Pakistan Air Force deployed J-10C aircraft during a clash with India in May, successfully downing several Indian aircraft, including French-made Rafale jets.
