India Kicked out of Global Technology Alliance, PAX Silica

NEW DELHI: India has been excluded from a major global technology alliance known as Pax Silica, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from the Indian opposition, which has described it as a serious failure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy.

According to the Indian newspaper The Indian Express, opposition parties have questioned why India was left out of the US-led digital and technology-focused coalition.

Senior opposition leader Jairam Ramesh stated that the tensions with Pakistan in May and subsequent developments had damaged India’s international standing.

He said it was not surprising that India was sidelined from a major global alliance after May 10, arguing that the country’s diplomatic position has weakened.

Ramesh described India’s exclusion from a strategic initiative like Pax Silica as a clear sign of the Modi government’s growing isolation on the global stage.

Pax Silica is a newly formed strategic initiative led by the United States, aimed at establishing secure and reliable supply chains for silicon and advanced technologies among trusted partner countries.

India’s absence from the alliance is being viewed as a significant diplomatic setback for New Delhi.

The opposition has warned that being left out of such global partnerships in an era dominated by advanced technology and artificial intelligence is deeply concerning for India’s future, and reflects repeated shortcomings in the country’s foreign policy that are undermining its global credibility.

It is worth mentioning that the world began to look down upon Modi-led India after its bashing from Pakistan in May 2025 when Pakistan uprooted the military installations in India after downing seven IAF aircrafts including three Rafales.

Th self-proclaimed superiority and the so called power came crashing down and other hand, the credible think tanks and the news outlet confessed Pakistan’s dominance and upper hand in the warfares, specially in the battle of air.
