ISLAMABAD: During Operation Bunyān Mursūs, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) dealt a severe blow to the Indian Air Force (IAF), downing several of its fighter jets across different regions.

According to security sources, one IAF jet crashed in the Anantnag area, with fears that the pilot did not survive.

The ejection seat of the downed aircraft was recovered from the Kokernag region.

Another Indian jet reportedly crashed in the Pampore or Pulwama area, with both pilots critically injured and taken to Srinagar Hospital.

A third fighter jet crashed in the Panthiyal/Ramsu area of district Ramban, where the pilot, Flying Officer Iqbal Singh, was evacuated to Udhampur Army Hospital with injuries.

A fourth aircraft came down in the agricultural fields of Bharda Kalan, tehsil Akhnoor, injuring both ejected pilots, who were transferred to the Akhnoor military hospital.

Additionally, an IAF aircraft was reported destroyed in the Bathinda region, and a Heron RPV (Remotely Piloted Vehicle) was shot down 13 nautical miles east of Jammu city.

Defense analysts describe the losses as a major setback for the Indian Air Force, stating that Operation Bunyān Mursūs highlights the complete failure of the IAF’s air strategy. The repeated destruction of their aircraft, likened to toys, raises serious questions about India’s military preparedness.
