Indian backed fake news war in Balochistan failing: Mir Behram Baloch

QUETTA: Prominent Baloch leader Mir Behram Baloch has stated that European and American watchdogs had exposed India’s digital proxy network years ago, confirming that New Delhi has been systematically spreading disinformation worldwide. He said this strategy is now being used to fuel unrest in Balochistan.

Speaking at the Burak Digital podcast, Mir Behram Baloch stated, “International platforms like the EU DisinfoLab have already documented India’s disinformation networks. It is no secret anymore that India manipulates global narratives through fake digital media operations — and unfortunately, Balochistan is one of its key targets. But today’s youth are far more aware and informed. They understand what’s real and what’s fake.”

He pointed to anonymous social media accounts such as Balochistan Facts, which he said are waging nothing more than a “war of words” without revealing their actual locations or backing their claims with credible evidence. “The era of fake news is fading,” he added. “People now know who is operating from where, and for what agenda.”

Mir Behram also highlighted a recent example involving Indian Army officer Major Arjun Shukla. “Even individuals like Major Shukla have admitted that India has created fake digital accounts to spread falsehoods,” he said. “On May 10, the entire world witnessed their media spreading blatant lies, including false claims about capturing Pakistani cities. Ironically, even Indian citizens were left confused, wondering what kind of media they had been trusting.”

He concluded by warning that a carefully orchestrated web of disinformation is being spun to mislead the world about Balochistan through manipulated social media narratives. “But the truth is catching up with them,” he said, “and the world is starting to see through this grand deception.”
