ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has accused India of fueling terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through its influence in Afghanistan.
In a recent interview, Asif warned that India poses a threat of launching attacks along any sector of the Line of Control (LoC) and assured that any aggression would be met with a strong and decisive response.
Highlighting the recent Pahalgam incident, the minister revealed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for the formation of an international commission to investigate the attack.
He emphasized that such an inquiry would uncover whether India orchestrated the incident itself or whether it was carried out by any militant group.
Asif stressed that the world must be told the truth—whether Narendra Modi is deceiving the global community.
“If Modi is lying, he must be confronted, as his actions are pushing the entire region towards instability and nuclear confrontation,” he said.

The defence minister further accused Modi of manipulating tensions for electoral gains, stating that India has been actively supporting terrorism in both KP and Balochistan.
“We submitted concrete evidence to the United Nations in 2016-17, including videos that show Indian financing and coordination of militant operations,” he noted.
He added that the roots of the current wave of terrorism targeting Pakistan lie in Afghanistan, and India is deeply involved in nurturing these threats.
Asif underlined the critical nature of Pakistan’s survival: “If Pakistan ceases to exist, no one else in the region will remain unaffected. We are surrounded by enemies on both borders.”
Reflecting on Pakistan’s historical challenges, the minister admitted that the country is still paying the price for flawed decisions made during the eras of General Zia, Musharraf, and Yahya. He praised the continued sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces and expressed hope that any escalation would remain confined to the LoC.
