India Grounds fights fearing Pakistan's strike

ISLAMABAD: In the wake of Pakistan’s powerful response to Indian aggression, India has closed 25 airports across the country until May 9, citing security concerns.

The closures include major airports in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala, and Jamnagar, among others.

The move follows India’s cowardly nighttime strikes targeting civilian areas in Azad Kashmir—Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bagh—as well as in Muridke and Ahmedpur Sharqia, where two mosques were destroyed and 26 Pakistani civilians, including two children, were martyred while 46 others were injured.

In retaliation, Pakistan’s armed forces shot down three Indian Rafales, one Sukhoi, one MiG-29, and a drone, and destroyed a major Indian brigade headquarters.

The National Security Committee has granted full authority to the Pakistan Army to respond decisively to Indian hostilities.

According to Indian media, more than 200 flights have been canceled and several airlines have suspended operations, resulting in losses worth millions of Indian rupees.

It is noteworthy that under the cover of night, India launched missile attacks on six civilian areas in Pakistan, resulting in the martyrdom of 26 innocent people, including children, women, and men, while several others were injured.

In response, the Pakistan Air Force, while operating strictly within its own airspace, targeted and destroyed five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales. Additionally, in Indian-occupied Kashmir, a major Indian military headquarters and several check-posts were also destroyed.

Following the attacks, the Pakistan Army declared that this cowardly act of targeting civilians would be avenged, with the timing and location of the response to be determined by Pakistan itself.
