India beat Pakistan by 61 runs in World Cup match

COLOMBO: India beat Pakistan by 61 runs in the World T20 Cup match at Colombo. Pakistan were bowled out for just 114 runs while chasing a target of 176 runs.

Pakistan put up a disappointing show with the bat and the top order collapsed against the Indian bowlers.

Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Although Pakistan picked up the important wicket of Abhishek Sharma who got caught at long on without scoring, but Ishan Kishan hammered Pakistan’s bowler all around the park.

He made 77 off just 40 deliveries. Skipper Surya Kumar Yadav made 32 while Tilak Verma added 29 runs.

Saim Ayum picked up 3 wickets and took two good catches.

Pakistan had had a disastrous start when both the openers were gone for only six runs.

Pakistan four wickets with just 34 runs on the board. Babar Azam made only five runs in the big game.

Usman Khan batted well and scored 44 runs. Shadab Khan added 14 runs before he was caught on the boundary. Shaheen Afridi made unbeaten 23 runs.

Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel two wickets each.

India have now qualified for the Super- 8 round of the World T20 Cup.

Pakistan will have their next match against Namibia on Thursday.
