QUETTA: The Balochistan Sports Department managed to get Rs 450 million released within just seven days, and out of that, Rs 300 million have already vanished on paper, allegedly in the name of games.
According to local media reports, Rs 300 million were released on July 17, 2025, followed by another Rs 150 million on July 24 but the shocking part is that in just one week, Rs 300 million were utilized by the sports department, though there’s hardly a sign of any actual games or events held across Balochistan. Report claimed the remaining Rs 150 million also have a plan in place to disappear silently on the name games.
The sports association and personalities showed displeasure over the sports department for throwing around money for a year now, and still refuses to provide transparency or basic information about where it all goes.
They said one can imagine if Rs 450 million can disappear in a week, imagine how much is being pocketed through annual grants, additional grants, and special funds for national events. There’s no audit, no accountability.

The sports community is now appealing to the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, Anti-Corruption, and NAB Balochistan to immediately investigate all the funds released to the department and arrest those involved in this daylight robbery.
