Imran Khan’s hospital shift subject to court order: Rana Sana

Peace is Balochistan is priority: Rana Sana

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that the government will shift PTI founder Imran Khan to a hospital only if the courts issue such an order. He made these remarks while speaking on Geo News’ program “Capital Talk.”

Rana Sanaullah drew a parallel with the case of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, explaining that when Nawaz Sharif had a heart condition, doctors examined him, the court granted permission, and the government fulfilled all conditions to allow him to go abroad for treatment. “If the courts order, the founder of PTI will be shifted to the hospital,” he reiterated.

Addressing concerns about Imran Khan’s health and meetings with family, the Advisor said that when meetings were initially stopped, rumors spread that the PTI founder had some problem. He noted that the government later facilitated a meeting with his sister. However, he emphasized that the satisfaction of the family or the party is separate from the legal framework. “The law does not recognize this,” Sanaullah stated.

He further revealed that a panel of five doctors has examined Imran Khan twice, and a medical record exists. “If these people are not satisfied, they should approach the Supreme Court,” he suggested, accusing them of trying to create an issue for political use. He also raised a question about responsibility if someone were to meet the doctor and have a direct conversation with the founder.

On the other hand, PTI Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly, Shahid Khattak, has reiterated the party’s demand for Imran Khan’s hospitalization. Commenting on Aleema Khan’s recent outburst, Khattak said her words reflected a sister’s pain for her brother. “What is wrong in getting the founder of PTI treated?” he questioned.

Khattak demanded that Imran Khan be examined in the presence of his personal physician, and that at least one of his sisters be present during the examination. Expressing concern, he asked, “Who will be responsible if something happens?” In response to a question, Khattak conveyed the PTI founder’s own concerns: “Why are the doctors not letting me go? What is the point of hiding if I have been treated? Make me meet the doctor, he will not talk badly.”

Notably, PTI sources have also confirmed that the government was previously willing to shift Imran Khan to a hospital and that arrangements were complete.
