ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has stated that the medical reports of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan are “satisfactory,” alleging that the opposition is disappointed by the outcome and was hoping for negative news.
Speaking informally to journalists at the Parliament House on Monday, Chaudhry claimed that the Imran Khan was examined in detail and that his health, particularly his eyesight, is in good condition. “The founder of PTI was examined in detail and the reports are satisfactory and his eyesight is like that of a young man. He is seeing and reading,” the minister asserted.
He suggested that the reports must have reached the Supreme Court and that the opposition’s reaction stems from their political irrelevance. “The protesters were disappointed that the founder of PTI’s eye was spared because the PTI does not want the reports to be good. They are no longer in politics and they want an accident to happen,” Chaudhry added.
Allegations Regarding Recent Protests
In a series of claims, the Minister of State also addressed the recent protests and sit-ins in the federal capital. He alleged that individuals who are not parliamentarians were brought to the sit-in and that armed men were taken to the Parliament Lodges, an area where families reside.
“Different types of parathas were delivered to the participants of the sit-in. Allama Raja Nasir Abbas should confirm this, otherwise we have all the evidence,” Chaudhry stated, alleging connections with the protesters. He condemned the actions, saying, “Such actions violated the sanctity of the parliament.”
Chaudhry maintained that the opposition’s protest movement has failed. “They have also changed the opposition leader and the Chief Minister but there has been no success and neither has the nation stood with them,” he remarked.
