LAHORE: The School Education Department of Punjab has issued a notification announcing revised timings for all government schools across the province.
These new timings will be effective from January 19, 2026, to April 15, 2026.
For single-shift schools, classes will run from 10:00 AM to 2:15 PM Monday through Thursday.
On Fridays, teaching hours in single-shift schools will be shortened to 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
In double-shift schools, the morning shift will operate from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while the afternoon shift will take place from 2:15 PM to 4:45 PM.
Teachers’ working hours from Monday to Thursday have been extended to include time for preparation, professional development, and training activities.
Teachers are now required to participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions, training programs, and curriculum-related tasks.
Attendance for teachers will be mandatory on alternate Saturdays as per the schedule.
Chief Executive Officers of Education have been strictly instructed to ensure full compliance with this notification.
The Punjab government has also allowed a flexibility of 15 minutes in adjusting school timings for boys’ and girls’ schools as required.
