Illegal weapons seized, suspect arrested in Kech

KECH: The security forces confiscated a large cache of illegal weapons and arrested a suspect during a routine inspection operation in Kech. In this regard, the incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2026, when security personnel stopped and inspected a suspicious pickup vehicle on the M-8 Road near Sammi Naka. 

The check was conducted in the general area of Sammi, Tehsil Turbat, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the region. Furthermore, the authorities discovered a vital quantity of illegal weapons concealed inside the vehicle. 

The weapons were immediately confiscated, and the individual traveling in the vehicle was taken into custody for further investigation. The pickup vehicle involved in the incident, bearing registration number LE-2996, was also seized.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the recovered items included 400 pistols and 340 magazines. The large number of weapons recovered has raised concerns about their intended use and possible links to criminal or unlawful activities. 

The arrested suspect has been identified as Ahsan Ullah, son of Mir Baz Khan, a resident of Peshawar. In such a scenario, the security officials focused on that such operations are part of routine checks aimed at preventing the movement of illegal arms and ensuring the safety of civilians. 

They reasserted their commitment to taking firm action against individuals involved in the illegal possession, transportation, or distribution of weapons.
