QUETTA: The secret facility manufacturing counterfeit soft drinks of well-known brands was raided and sealed by the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) during a major operation on Kechi Baig Qambrani Road in Quetta. The illegal factory was producing fake and hazardous versions of popular beverages including Sting, Sprite, Mountain Dew, Coca-Cola, and Fanta.
During the raid, BFA teams seized a vital quantity of contaminated cold drinks, labels, empty bottles, and industrial filling machines used for bottling the fake products. Furthermore, Director General of the Balochistan Food Authority, Waqar Khurshid Alam, confirmed that the counterfeit drinks were being distributed not only in Quetta but also in several other districts of the province.
He declared the seized beverages as extremely dangerous for human health and focused on the authority’s commitment to continue indiscriminate action against health hazards. The operation indicates the BFA’s ongoing campaign to crack down on health-endangering food items and to enforce quality standards across the province.
