LORALAI: The district administration has carried out a stringent anti-encroachment drive, demolishing illegally established settlements in the Katoi, Ghazgi, and Shah Kareez camps.
Deputy Commissioner Miran Baloch confirmed the operation, which was supervised by Assistant Commissioner Nadeem Akram and SDPO Karim Mandokhel. As part of the ongoing efforts, authorities have now repatriated a total of 18,203 Afghan nationals.
To prevent the re-emergence of illegal camps, the administration has imposed a complete ban on new construction in these areas. Landlords who rent property to individuals without legal documentation face legal action under the Foreign Act of 1946.
The repatriation of the Afghan immigrants continues in many districts across Balochistan.
The Quetta district administration has excluded 35 thousand Afghan national so far.
The Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini has said that according to the directives of the government of Pakistan, the repatriation campaign of the Afghan nationals is continued stepwise and in an organized way.
He further said that we are keeping in view humanitarian compassion, legal codes and the government policy so that no group is troubled.
The Deputy Commissioner has said that the process of repatriation will be accelerated in the future and all the institution on the district level are active.
The facilitation centers have been launched on the border areas.
Dozens of camps have been evacuated on the daily basis in the operations carried out by the district administration.
In a separate but related operation, police arrested 12 Afghan farmers at the Dosarka checkpoint and seized a quantity of poppy seeds.
