IGP Balochistan vows to uproot criminal elements as prime duty

KHUZDAR : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, reaffirmed the police’s unwavering commitment to law enforcement and peace during a ceremony held in Khuzdar, stating that the forces they are confronting “may have deep roots, but we are determined to uproot them completely” .

Addressing police officers and young personnel, IGP Tahir emphasized that Balochistan is a “bouquet of diverse nations,” whose beauty lies in upholding the rule of law. He highlighted that maintaining order is the top priority of the police, as peace is the fundamental demand of the people and the foundation of development for every progressive nation .

The police chief’s remarks come at a time when security forces in the province continue to face significant challenges. His speech honored the “great sacrifices” made by the people of Balochistan for peace, describing the history written by martyrs as “truly commendable” .

IGP Tahir also outlined a forward-looking strategy, urging officers to explore more opportunities for public service. He announced that the government has decided to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the police department by providing necessary resources to every region, with special attention given to training and technology .

In his address, the IGP stressed a modern policing approach, noting that “in this modern age, people themselves are the real strength.” He instructed officers that it is essential to distinguish between criminals and ordinary citizens to maintain public trust .

Following the ceremony, IGP Tahir chaired a meeting on the law and order situation in the Kalat Range. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Kalat Division Dr. Tufail Baloch, DIG Kalat Range Abdul Hameed Khosa, SSPs of the range, and other security officers .
