IGP Balochistan visits Chaman, stresses enhanced security coordination

CHAMAN: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, conducted a one-day visit to the border district of Chaman on Sunday, where he reviewed the law and order situation and directed police to remain on high alert.

Upon his arrival at the DC Complex, IGP Tahir was presented a guard of honor by a police contingent. A local student, Muhammad Kunin, welcomed the provincial police chief with a bouquet of flowers. The IGP then chaired a high-level security meeting at the District Police Office (DPO).

The meeting, attended by senior military officials, DPO Chaman Abdullah Imran Cheema, and DPO Qila Abdullah Shahid Jamil Khan Kakar, focused on the security landscape of the sensitive border region. DPO Cheema provided a detailed briefing on the prevailing law and order situation.

Addressing police personnel at the District Assembly Hall, IGP Tahir underscored that protecting public lives and property is the foremost duty of the police. “In a sensitive and border district like Chaman, the responsibility of the police force increases manifold,” he stated. He emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all security agencies to strengthen the state’s writ and prevent any untoward incidents.

The IGP instructed officers to maintain extreme vigilance, closely monitor suspicious activities, and remain alert to their surroundings to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for citizens. The visit concluded with addresses from DPO Chaman and other senior officers, reaffirming their commitment to heightened security measures.

Meanwhile the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has released its astronomical forecast regarding the moon sighting for the holy month of Rajab-ul-Murajjab 1447 Hijri.

Furthermore, the new moon of Rajab-ul-Murajjab is expected to be born on December 20, 2025, at 06:43 am (PST).

The commission stated that astronomical models and observational data were used to determine the timing of the lunar conjunction and the likelihood of moon visibility.
