Dalbandin – Inspector General FC South, Major General Bilal Sarfraz, paid a special visit to Dalbandin on Friday, where he met tribal elders, notables, senior district administration officials, and police officers to discuss local affairs.
During the meeting, he stressed that maintaining peace in Chagai district is a shared responsibility of the government, security institutions, and community elders.
He appreciated the role of local leaders in supporting peace and stability in the region.
While remembering Captain Waqar Kakar (Shaheed), who was martyred in Dasht during a recent cowardly attack by extremists, the IG praised him as a brave and honorable Baloch officer.
He affirmed that the FC and other law enforcement agencies will continue joint targeted operations against militants and their facilitators to ensure lasting peace in the area.
Highlighting the tactics of these extremist elements, he revealed that they are using explosives to carry out their nefarious designs, resulting in the loss of both security personnel and innocent civilians.
Evidence has been found of explosives being smuggled through various oil border crossings, which led to the temporary closure of certain crossings.
He added that efforts are underway to make these crossings secure and to reopen them for the benefit of local communities, with priority being given to the reopening of the Raje border crossing within this month.
Modern scanners are being installed to ensure the safe continuation of local oil trade.
Rejecting the militants’ narrative that all border crossings are closed, he clarified that all officially notified trade and transit crossings are operational and in daily use, and further crossings will also be reopened soon, including the Katagar route.
On development, he shared that under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative, development projects worth PKR 411 million have been approved for Chagai district.
Funds are being directly transferred to the district administration to ensure immediate implementation.
