BAJAUR: The security forces have discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) manufacturing facility inside a mosque located on the outskirts of Bajaur.
The facility was being run by militants belonging to the outlawed Khawarij group, who had allegedly converted the place of worship into a site for preparing explosives.
Furthermore, the security operation, carried out following intelligence-based information, led to the seizure of a large cache of explosive material, triggering devices, and other equipment used in the preparation of IEDs.
In this regard, religious scholars and community elders in Bajaur also strongly condemned the act, terming it a distortion of faith and values.
In this sense, the incident comes amid heightened security operations in the tribal districts, where militants have attempted to regroup in recent months.

The Bajaur incident has once again drawn attention to the tactics of militant groups, which seek to exploit religious sentiments while undermining the very principles of the faith they claim to represent.
So far, officials further focused on the fact that the discovery underscores the importance of community vigilance.
Citizens have been urged to promptly report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies to prevent extremists from misusing religious spaces for unlawful purposes.
