The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed a fine on Pakistani cricketer Salman Ali Agha for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during a match against Bangladesh national cricket team.
The incident occurred when Agha was run out during the match and reacted in frustration. The all-rounder threw his gloves and helmet onto the ground in anger.
The governing body stated that the player has been fined a portion of his match fee and has also been handed one demerit point as part of the disciplinary action.
The ICC regulations require players to maintain professional conduct during matches, and actions that show visible dissent or anger, such as throwing equipment, are considered breaches of the code.
The ICC further confirmed that Agha accepted the charge and admitted his mistake following the incident. Because the player acknowledged the offence, there was no need for a formal disciplinary hearing.
The acceptance of the charge led to the immediate imposition of the sanction in accordance with ICC disciplinary procedures.
The episode took place during Pakistan’s match against Bangladesh, where Agha appeared visibly disappointed after being run out. Television footage and on-field observations showed him expressing frustration as he left the field.
The ICC Code of Conduct is designed to promote respect, discipline, and professionalism among players and officials participating in international cricket.
