ICC delivers a setback to Pakistan

RAWALPNDI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has delivered back  fined  the Pakistani team after the first ODI against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi.

According to the sources of the ICC, Team Pakistan has been fined on account of slow over rate in the first ODI against Sri Lanka.

According to the ICC, Pakistan 4 less overs in their allotted time which violates the ICC’s article 2.2.

This article enforces 5 percent per over deduction of the match fee from the captain of the team. Pakistani Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has admitted the violation so no further interrogation was required over the matter.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan had defeated the visitors Sri Lanka by only six runs in the opening match of the three ODIs series at Rawalpindi.

A threat of Sri Lanka’s leaving the tour incomplete and returning to their country on the bases of the security reasons had erupted yesterday, but Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman PCB had met the Sri Lankan High Commissioner and the team members.

The PCB chairman assured the Sri Lankans of a high-level security arrangement which caused the change in the feared Sri Lankans’ mind.

They pull out from the decision of cancelling tour and decided to play the ODI and the Tri-Nation series.

The government of Pakistan and the players of the Pakistani team have praised the decision of the Sri Lankan players and expressed their gratitude.

The ODI series between the two teams was rescheduled and the matches now will be played on the 14th and th 16th of November in Rawalpindi.

The ODI series between the two teams will be followed up with the tri-nations T20 series with the inclusion of Zimbabwe.

The people across Pakistan have thanked the Sri Lankan team after their decision to continue the tour.

The second of the three matches series will be played tomorrow.
