Housing authorities ordered to switch off outdoor lights

ISLAMABAD: Authorities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have issued strict directives to residents and businesses of the housing authorities to switch off all outdoor lights, including those on streets, homes, and shops. The orders, issued on the recommendation of Pakistan’s armed forces, come amid heightened security following India’s recent missile attacks on Pakistani cities.

The administrations of both cities have warned that non-compliance will result in strict action. This advisory follows a night of Indian aggression during which missile strikes targeted six civilian areas across Pakistan, claiming the lives of 26 innocent civilians and injuring many others.

In a decisive response, the Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale aircraft, while remaining within its own airspace. Additionally, Pakistani forces destroyed a key Indian air headquarters and several military posts in Indian-occupied Kashmir. The Pakistan Army has vowed to retaliate for the unprovoked attacks at a time and place of its choosing.
