QUETTA: In yet another case of honour killing, a man in Quetta—the provincial capital of Balochistan—shot dead his own daughter and nephew in cold blood.
This is the second honour killing reported in the last 24 hours, and the third such incident this week.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Abdul Latif, opened fire on his daughter and nephew, Ghulam Qadir, killing them both on the spot.
Soon after committing the crime, the accused managed to flee the scene and is currently at large. Law enforcement officials have launched a search operation to apprehend him.
The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. After the postmortem and legal documentation, the deceased were handed over to their respective families for burial.
This incident has once again raised serious questions about the rising trend of honour-based violence in Balochistan and the failure to deter such brutal acts through legal and social reforms.
