Islamabad: The Punjab government has decided to declare a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
An official notification has been issued in this regard, stating that Wednesday, February 4, will be a holiday for all government offices throughout Punjab.
According to the notification released by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, public corporations, local government institutions, and government and semi-government educational institutions under the provincial government will remain closed on that day.
The holiday will be uniformly observed in all districts of Punjab so that citizens can easily participate in religious observances and other activities related to Shab-e-Barat.
Additionally, the Auqaf Department and concerned authorities have been directed to complete all necessary security and administrative arrangements in mosques, shrines, and graveyards in view of the expected large gatherings, to prevent any untoward incidents.
