HEC postpones Law Admission Test in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Law Admission Test (LAT) scheduled to be held in Balochistan under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has been postponed.

According to details, the Education Testing Council (ETC) — the testing body of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan — postponed the LAT scheduled for coming Sunday (November 9) in Quetta due to the prevailing law and order situation.

Officials said a new date for the test will be announced soon.

The decision came after the provincial government imposed Section 144 in Quetta district for 15 days.

Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the HEC and ETC websites — www.hec.gov.pk
and www.etc.hec.gov.pk — for updates on the new test schedule.

Last month, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti had said that the Balochistan government has successfully reactivated 3,144 schools that were previously closed, marking a historic achievement for the province.

The initiative, led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and spearheaded by Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani, has brought functional education back to more than 81,000 children. This effort has revived 81% of the 3,862 schools that were once non-functional.

“The future of our province is linked with education, and we are ensuring that no child is left behind,” stated Minister Durrani, highlighting the government’s commitment.
