KALAT: Five electricity towers were collapsed near the 132 kV Kalat Grid Station as heavy rain and strong winds hit Kalat on Monday evening. The fallen towers have damaged six feeders, which supply electricity to several rural areas.
According to details, due to fallen towers the areas including Tok, Ghulam Jan, Koshi, Nechara, Pandran, and nearby villages are now completely without power.
The local told media that this electricity outage badly affecting local communities and farmers and landowners fear losses worth crores of rupees, as irrigation systems are down and there is also a shortage of drinking water in the area.

Residents have urged the authorities to urgently repair the damaged towers and restore electricity as soon as possible.
