KHYBER: Cross-Border Firing Erupts Between Pakistan Army and Afghan Forces in Khyber District
Security sources reported intense exchange of fire between Pakistan Army troops and Afghan border forces at multiple locations along the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber district on Wednesday evening.
The skirmish began around 5:15 PM and continued in the Bazaar Zakha Khel area, specifically at the Maro Sar and Shah Kot Sar posts.
Both sides reportedly used heavy weapons during the engagement.
According to initial reports from security officials, no casualties have been confirmed on either side so far.
The situation remains tense, with firing still ongoing at the time of the latest update.
This incident comes amid persistent border tensions between the two countries, often linked to militant movements and differing security perceptions along the porous Durand Line.
