Heatwave grips Balochistan as temperatures soar to 49°C

QUETTA: The intense heatwave continues across Balochistan, with temperatures soaring up to 49°C.

As per details, various parts of the province are experiencing extreme heat, and the weather is expected to remain hot and dry in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, the southern districts of Balochistan are likely to experience particularly severe heat, with strong and dusty winds also expected in some areas.

Reports indicate that most cities in Balochistan have recorded temperatures above the seasonal average. The highest temperature was recorded in Sibi at 49°C, followed by Turbat at 47°C, while Nokkundi and Gwadar both recorded 38°C.

Other cities also experienced intense heat. In Quetta and Zhob, the maximum temperature reached 34°C; in Kalat, it was 28°C; Ziarat recorded 25°C; Chaman 33°C; and Jiwani 37°C.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak heat hours and to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the heat. Experts suggest that the current weather conditions are likely to persist throughout the week.
