QUETTA: Provincial Health Minister Balochistan Bakht Muhammad Kakar has announced the resumption of kidney transplant operations at the Balochistan Kidney Hospital, which had been suspended for a year, due to which patients had to go to other provinces for treatment, but now this process has been restored.
During a press briefing, the Health Minister said that the provincial government resumed kidney transplants at the Balochistan Kidney Hospital and so far 5 successful transplants have been performed, while 30 patients are registered.
Kakar said that along with kidney transplants, 150 cornea (eye) operations have also been performed in Balochistan. He said that free operations of heart patients are going on in the province and the government is providing free stents to heart patients, which is a big relief for the patients.

Health Minister further said that various medical facilities are being provided in Balochistan under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model so that the people can get quality treatment at their doorstep. He said that revolutionary changes are being brought in the health sector and practical steps are being taken to remove the shortcomings of the past.
