Health Department is on the verge of chaos in Panjgur

PANJGUR: In district Panjgur, several government departments have been found operating under the “Khata System,” with the Health Department reportedly being the most affected.

According to sources, this system is a major cause of the department’s poor performance.

Employees who attend duties regularly face strict actions — even short absences due to emergencies can result in salary deductions, official warnings, and humiliation.

Meanwhile, those who have been absent for years and hired substitutes to work in their place continue to receive full pay without any accountability.

This practice has pushed the department into severe decline.

Hospitals and health centers within the city, as well as RHCs, BHUs, and other medical facilities, are in deplorable condition, while remote areas are almost completely deprived of health services.

Concerned citizens have expressed deep disappointment over the inefficiency of the Panjgur Health Department and urged higher authorities to immediately abolish the “Khata System.”

They have also demanded a full inquiry and disciplinary action against the officers and clerks responsible for implementing this illegal system.

In addition, it has been revealed that official motorcycles of the EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization) are being used by unauthorized individuals.

Genuine EPI workers, who regularly perform their duties and provide vaccination services, have been deprived of these vehicles, while those with connections or influence enjoy their use.

Locals allege that the misuse of EPI resources is due to the negligence of health officials.

Citizens have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Panjgur to conduct a thorough investigation into the use of all EPI motorcycles and vehicles.
