SWAT: Unknown Attackers Lob Hand Grenade at Provincial Minister Dr. Amjad Ali’s Residence
Shamozai, Swat: Unidentified assailants launched a hand grenade attack on the residence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister Dr. Amjad Ali in the Shamozai area of Swat district late on January 21, 2026.
No casualties were reported in the explosion, though the house sustained partial damage.
Following the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Swat Muhammad Umar reached the scene along with a heavy contingent of police personnel to inspect the site, collect evidence, and initiate an investigation.
Speaking to the media after the attack, Dr. Amjad Ali described the incident as a deliberate attempt to silence his voice.
He stated firmly, “This attack is an effort to suppress my voice and stop me from speaking the truth.
Under no circumstances will I back down from raising the right issues or speaking out for justice.”
Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
