GWADAR: Authorities have opened a new public park in Sangar Phase-I Housing Scheme, adding another recreational space to the city’s growing attractions.
Major General Habib Nawaz and Deputy Commissioner Hamood-ur-Rehman inaugurated the park on Friday. The officials toured the site, reviewed its layout, and praised the development team for creating a clean, modern facility.
The inauguration featured local music and refreshments to highlight Gwadar’s culture and community spirit.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the park will offer a healthy leisure option for residents and tourists. Officials said it reflects Gwadar’s vision of becoming a green, vibrant, and visitor-friendly city in Balochistan.
Senior civil and military officers attended the ceremony, including GDA Director General Moin-ur-Rehman, SSP Zia ul Haq Mandokhail, ADC Dr. Abdul Shakoor, AC Saeed Kaleem Zafar, Chief Engineer Haji Sayed Muhammad, and Project Manager Nazeer Ahmed Baloch.
Launched in 1992, the Sangar Housing Project (SHP) is one of Gwadar’s flagship urban developments. Located on the scenic Koh-e-Batil Peninsula, it offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and modern infrastructure, including roads, electricity, sewage, and water systems.
Project Director Hamood-ur-Rehman said SHP represents transparent planning, digital management, and sustainable urban growth in Gwadar.
Earlier this week, a senior Pakistan Army commander and the head of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) conducted a joint visit to the historic Omani Fort to inspect Gwadar’s historic sites being undergo major restoration under master plan
