The details of the Gwadar's land allotment revealed

QUETTA: The details regarding the allotment of Balochistan’s land to the federal and the provincial government department have been revealed.

56613 Acres of land was allotted to federal and provincial departments in Gwadar district.

The published documents reveal that 17542 acres of Gwadar and 1675 acres of Pasni was allotted.

The report further said that some 4878 acres in Jeewani and 31014 acres of Ormara land was allotted to the government departments.

In the Gwadar’s Tehsil of Sinster , 1505 acres land was allotted. The Industrial state and the export processing zones in Gwadar were allotted 4000 acres of land.

The land for the construction of Punjab, Sindh and KP houses was also allotted in Gwadar.

The port city of Gwadar remains under the joint administration of both the Balochistan provincial government and the federal government of Pakistan, as efforts to enhance infrastructure, security, and development intensify under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

At the provincial level, the Government of Balochistan continues to manage key civic functions including law and order, health, education, and local governance.

The Balochistan Police and Levies remain responsible for maintaining security across urban and rural areas, while the education and health departments oversee public schools and hospitals.

Local government bodies are actively involved in city planning and sanitation services.

Meanwhile, the federal government is directly handling strategic initiatives in the region.

The Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), operating under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, controls port operations, while the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) coordinates large-scale urban planning.

Critical infrastructure projects like the Gwadar International Airport and several CPEC-linked roads and energy projects are being managed at the federal level.

The Pakistan Army and Navy continue to provide security, especially around port areas and sensitive installations.

Officials say the dual structure aims to combine local empowerment with national-level oversight, ensuring Gwadar’s transformation into a regional trade and logistics hub.
