Over 650,000 Free Treatments at Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Three Years

: Gwadar celebrated a significant milestone as the Indus Hospital and Health Netowrk (IHHN) marked the third anniversary of its management of the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital. The grand ceremony highlighted a transformative journey in healthcare for the region, showcasing three years of expanded, free, and modern medical services for the local population.

GWADAR: Gwadar celebrated a significant milestone as the Indus Hospital and Health Netowrk (IHHN) marked the third anniversary of its management of the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital. The grand ceremony highlighted a transformative journey in healthcare for the region, showcasing three years of expanded, free, and modern medical services for the local population.

Presided over by Director General GDA, Moinur Rehman Khan, the event saw a large gathering of officials, including MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, IHHN’s Chief Operating Officer Mazhar Ahmed Siddiqui, and prominent community leaders. In a special video message, IHHN President Dr. Abdul Bari revealed the scale of the hospital’s impact, announcing that over 650,000 patients have received free treatment since its inception. He emphasized that 80% of the 487-strong staff are local hires, a landmark achievement for Balochistan’s employment and skill development.

The 150-bed facility, described as a unique and modern model, now operates 15 clinical departments with plans to expand to 25. It provides comprehensive services, including diagnostics, pharmacy, and a blood bank, entirely free of charge. Future plans, under Phase II, aim to elevate the institution to a Teaching Hospital with a Medical College and School of Medical Technology.

MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman commended the hospital for reversing medical tourism, noting that patients now come to Gwadar from across Balochistan and even Iran. DG GDA Moinur Rehman Khan affirmed that the hospital is a vital pillar of CPEC’s social infrastructure and a top priority for further strengthening. The ceremony concluded with a firm resolve to continue this successful journey of healthcare service.

Meanwhile a high-level meeting was convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Panjgur to review district affairs, with a strong emphasis on administrative performance and development. Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Abdul Kabir Zarkoon, the meeting brought together key figures including MPA Rehmat Saleh Baloch, SSP Dost Muhammad Bugti, and heads of various government departments.

The primary agenda was a comprehensive review of the performance, ongoing development projects, and overall administrative affairs of Panjgur district. Officials from the education, health, agriculture, and construction sectors presented detailed briefings on their respective departments’ activities and progress.
