Quetta: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department to address the ongoing water crisis in Gwadar.
The session was attended by Gwadar Port Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch, PHE Secretary Hashim Ghilzai, Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, Executive Engineer for Gwadar, Engr. Momin Baloch, and other relevant officials.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to initiate a daily water supply from the desalination plant located at Gwadar Port to help resolve the city’s water shortage.
A formal agreement between the Government of Balochistan and the Gwadar Port Authority regarding this arrangement is expected to be finalized soon.

The participants emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among all concerned departments and agencies to ensure swift relief for the residents of Gwadar who are facing acute water scarcity.
