It is worth mentioning that Balochistan’s transport infrastructure plays a crucial role in connecting the province’s vast and rugged landscape with the rest of Pakistan.
Despite being the largest province by area, it has long faced challenges of limited road networks, poor connectivity, and inadequate maintenance.
However, recent developments under projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have significantly improved road and highway construction, linking Gwadar Port with major cities such as Quetta and Karachi.
The expansion of highways like the N-25 and M-8 has enhanced trade and logistics, supporting regional and international connectivity.
Railway and airport upgrades are also under consideration to promote passenger and cargo movement.
Improved transport infrastructure not only facilitates economic activity and access to markets but also promotes tourism and social integration.
Continued investment, efficient maintenance, and security measures are essential to ensure that Balochistan’s transport system contributes effectively to the provinces and Pakistan’s long-term development goals.
