QUETTA: A high-level grand jirga, convened by Frontier Corps Balochistan North, concluded with a strong consensus on fostering peace, security, and development in the region. The gathering in Nasirabad Division brought together key provincial leadership, military officials, and a large assembly of tribal elders.
Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, addressing the attendees, lauded tribal communities as steadfast partners of the state. He underscored the necessity of a unified strategy to ensure lasting peace, the smooth execution of development projects, and a prosperous future for the youth.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti commended the Pakistan Army and FC Balochistan North for their dedicated use of resources to guarantee sustainable peace and improve essential services. He emphasized the vital role tribal elders play in upholding regional security.
Echoing these sentiments, Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan stated that peace and unity are fundamental to Balochistan’s progress. He called upon the public to collectively oppose terrorists and defeat anti-state elements seeking to destabilize the region.
The participating tribal elders expressed full support for the initiatives of the government and security forces. They specifically welcomed efforts related to the Kohan Survey Project and the enhanced security along the N-65 highway. Reaffirming their commitment, the elders pledged to stand alongside state institutions to promote harmony, peace, and collective development in Balochistan.
Meanwhile Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, approved a series of reform measures in li aimed at improving departmental efficiency, safeguarding public health, and strengthening transparent governance.
One of the key decisions taken was the phased relocation of dairy farms from within Quetta city to areas outside municipal limits. The Chief Minister emphasized that the move is intended to provide citizens with a healthier environment, reduce pollution and traffic congestion, and promote modern urban planning to address environmental and public health challenges.
To ensure effective implementation, a special committee comprising the Secretary Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) and the Secretary Finance was formed. The committee has been tasked with reviewing all aspects of the plan and submitting a comprehensive report within one week.
