KALAT: Like other parts of Balochistan, government employees in Kalat staged a protest rally under the banner of the Grand Alliance to protest the reversal of their allowances and press for their other demands.
The rally marched through various streets of Kalat Bazaar and culminated in a protest demonstration outside the Kalat Press Club.
Leaders of the Grand Alliance addressed the gathering, voicing strong demands for an increase in basic salaries and allowances.
Protesters also called for the timely upgradation and implementation of the time-scale system for employees.
The rally strongly opposed the privatization of public institutions and contract-based hiring.
Another key demand was to streamline the pension system through an automated and online mechanism.

Chanting slogans against the government, the protesting employees insisted that their wages be raised and their rights ensured without delay.
