Governor Balochistan inaugurates skills education center in Zhob

ZHOB: Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Skills Education Center at Model Higher Secondary School Zhob, established with the support of UNICEF and the European Union.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Governor stressed that the youth need quality education and modern vocational skills. He said the new Skills Education Center will open employment opportunities for students and drive Balochistan’s socio-economic development.

Governor Mandokhail praised UNICEF and the European Union for their support. He affirmed that investing in education and skills development secures the future of the young generation.

A day earlier, four students were wounded when a police guard accidentally opened fire outside the residence of Balochistan’s governor in Zhob, officials said.

Authorities said the incident occurred when the local police station chief accidentally fired his weapon. The victims, all visitors who had come to meet Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, were rushed to Zhob’s Civil Hospital. The injured were students among the visitors who came to see the governor.

It was not immediately clear whether the governor was inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

Police said an investigation into the incident was underway.
