QUETTA: Balochistan’s Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has instructed district administrations across the province to implement tight security measures during the Ashura processions and other religious activities, to ensure the safety of mourners and the smooth conduct of religious gatherings.
The governor also ordered increased coordination between law enforcement agencies, including the police, administration, and intelligence units. He called for uninterrupted communication between departments to ensure a swift response to any potential threats.
Furthermore, the provincial government has also been advised to ensure the availability of emergency services and to set up control rooms for monitoring the situation round-the-clock. In addition, Mandokhail stressed that a proactive approach is vital in safeguarding the lives of citizens and maintaining communal harmony during this sensitive period.
In such a scenario, district administrations have been tasked with inspecting all routes of processions, improving surveillance through CCTV, and coordinating with local communities to address any concerns in advance.

The governor assured citizens that the government is fully committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the observance of Muharram, appealing to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activity.
