Governor Balochistan vows implementation of women’s job quota in province

QUETTA: Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, praised the achievements of women in the province. He said women from Balochistan have proven their abilities in all areas of life. They are not only practicing law but also shaping a brighter future for other women, who make up half of the population.

He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of women lawyers. The delegation was led by Umaira Munir, Vice President of the Quetta Bar Association.

The Governor praised the commitment and hard work of women lawyers. He said their efforts are vital in delivering justice, especially to marginalized groups.

He called on society to recognize the potential of women. He urged institutions to give women more opportunities to grow in their professions.

He also announced the enforcement of a five percent job quota for women in relevant departments. He said this step will boost their participation in the workforce. He added that a female Ombudsperson for Balochistan will be appointed soon based on merit.

Governor Mandokhail shared his vision of a future Balochistan. He sees women in key roles—session judges, civil judges, prosecutor generals, and leaders of bar associations.

He stressed the need to solve the problems faced by women lawyers. He said their voices must be heard, and they should take part in building a better society.

He concluded by saying, “Women in law inspire society. Their work helps connect the legal system to the people.”
