Strong leadership key to national progress: Governor Balochistan

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said capable and visionary leadership is key to national progress.

He stressed that strong leadership can steer the country out of economic crises and ensure sustainable development.

Speaking at BUITEMS University during Independence Day celebrations, he urged citizens to celebrate the day in a practical and meaningful way.

He called on the nation to renew its commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s foundations.

The ceremony was attended by BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Hafeez, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Mairwais Kasi, faculty members, political leaders, and many women.

Mandokhail praised Pakistan’s recent historic victory against India, calling it a defining moment that boosted the pride of Muslim nations.

He described Balochistan as “the crown jewel of Pakistan” and Pakistan as “the crown jewel of the Muslim world.”

He lauded BUITEMS’ eco-projects, including planting over 10,000 trees and raising awareness on water conservation.

He called these efforts forward-thinking steps for environmental sustainability.

The Governor expressed optimism about Pakistan’s future, citing Balochistan’s rich mineral and natural resources.

He urged their efficient use to drive development.

He reminded the audience that Pakistan’s independence came through great sacrifice.

He urged the youth to honor this legacy by working for the country’s progress.

Mandokhail called on public-sector university vice chancellors in Balochistan to raise academic standards and performance.

He said the province’s universities must compete with top institutions in the country and attract students from major cities.

Acknowledging high tuition fees as a barrier for talented but poor students, he stressed the need for affordable quality education.

He said equipping youth with modern skills is essential to protect Pakistan’s future.
