QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has announced strict measures to implement efficiency and austerity in the use of public resources, ordering the return of government vehicles being used by unauthorized individuals.
A review meeting on national austerity measures, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, directed that government vehicles currently in the possession of former governors, chief ministers, ministers, ex-officials, and unrelated personnel be returned immediately, with strict action to be taken in case of violations.
All government vehicles will undergo an audit, and fuel will only be issued to verified vehicles.
Vehicles older than 2005 will be gradually auctioned, and a plan for vehicle rationalization has been approved.
The use of official vehicles after office hours is prohibited without prior authorization, and any breach will result in action against the concerned officer.
GPS trackers will be installed in all vehicles, inter-provincial movement will be restricted, and strict monitoring of vehicle movements will be enforced.
Intra-city movements will also be monitored via Safe City cameras.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that public resources must not be wasted under any circumstances, and austerity measures will be strictly implemented.
Any misuse of government vehicles will be dealt with impartially and firmly.
