Quetta: The Balochistan government and opposition parties have reached an agreement following successful talks, deciding to release detained political workers and withdraw all cases registered across the province.
The crucial meeting was held at the Quetta Commissioner’s Office on the instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Khan Bugti.
The government delegation was represented by Provincial Ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, and Bakht Muhammad Kakar, while Zamrak Khan Achakzai participated as a mediator.
Representing the opposition were Advocate Sajid Khan Tareen, Akhtar Hussain Langove, and Agha Hassan Baloch from the Balochistan National Party (BNP); Taleemend Khan, Majid Khan Achakzai, and Kabir Khan Afghan from Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP); National Party Chairman Aslam Baloch and Changez Hai Baloch; Asghar Khan Achakzai, Rasheed Khan Nasir, and Wali Dad Miyani from Awami National Party (ANP); Advocate Salam Agha and Malik Faisal Dehwar from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI); Zahid Akhtar Baloch and Jameel Ahmed Mishwani from Jamaat-e-Islami; and Allama Vilayat Hussain and Muhammad Younis from Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), along with other party leaders.
As a goodwill gesture, the government delegation, under the directives of CM Bugti, announced the immediate release of political activists and the withdrawal of registered cases.
It was further agreed that opposition parties will coordinate with district administration to hold rallies and demonstrations strictly in line with comprehensive SOPs.
The opposition assured full compliance with the law, protection of public property, and a commitment to ensuring peaceful conduct during protests.
They pledged that no violent incidents or harmful activities would take place, and all political activities would be carried out under the agreed guidelines.

The meeting was also attended by Quetta Division Commissioner Shahzaib Khan Kakar and Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Captain (R) Mehar Ullah Badini.
