In a recent statement, Shahid Rind, the spokesperson for the Government of Balochistan, addressed the media and provided updates on recent developments following the Jaffar Express incident.
Rind highlighted that, after the incident, the Balochistan Voice of the People (BVC) held protests and demonstrations. He further stated that during a protest yesterday, a speech containing anti-state rhetoric was delivered by the leadership of BVC. The speech was made at a gathering organized by a political party registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The spokesperson assured that the government will carefully examine the matter and take appropriate action based on the findings. He added that government representatives had met with Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal on two occasions, during which three main demands were raised. Among these demands, the release of Meh Rang was a key point.
Rind also clarified that while BVC’s leadership requested permission for their protest to be held in the Red Zone area, the government will not allow demonstrations in that area, stressing that security regulations must be followed. He further emphasized that the government’s offer to Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal which was, that they allowed them to come to Shahwani stadium saryab road but he wants to come into the red zone and it will be not allowed .
Lastly, Rind confirmed that Section 144 is currently in effect in the city, and any individuals found violating the law will face legal consequences.
