KARACHI: Gold prices recorded a sharp decline today in both international and local markets.
In the international bullion market on Thursday, the price per ounce of gold dropped suddenly by $243, bringing the new global price to $4,767 per ounce.
Similarly, in local sarafa markets, the price per tola of gold fell significantly by Rs 24,300, settling at the new rate of Rs 499,462 per tola.
Along with the per tola price, the local market saw a decrease of Rs 20,833 per 10 grams of gold, reducing it to Rs 428,208.
Accompanying the drop in gold prices, silver also became cheaper: per tola silver decreased by Rs 760 to Rs 7,734, while per 10 grams silver fell by Rs 652 to Rs 6,630.
