ISLAMABAD: Global leaders have warmly welcomed the diplomatic efforts by Pakistan that led to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
In a joint statement issued by 11 major world powers, including France, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom, the international community acknowledged Pakistan’s key role in securing the two-week temporary ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.
The statement expressed gratitude to Pakistan and its partners for successful mediation. It emphasized that a permanent end to the conflict can only be achieved through meaningful diplomatic negotiations.
The global leaders called for the ceasefire to be extended to Lebanon and strictly enforced across all conflict zones.
They also stressed the need to ensure complete freedom of maritime navigation and trade through the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement warned that only serious negotiations can prevent a severe global energy crisis.
Both the President of the European Commission and the President of the European Council have also expressed full support for the ceasefire agreement.
