MASTUNG: A 10 years old daughter of a laborer killed after sexual assault in the Mastung area of Balochistan. The incident took place on the 7th of September when a 10 years old girl Zareena was sexually assaulted and killed when she was alone at home.
Police have immediately registered a case and launched an investigation following the father’s complaint, as the incident has sparked widespread grief and outrage in the area. Human rights organizations have demanded swift justice.
The victim’s father, a poor laborer, told media that he left home the previous morning to take his wife to Quetta for medical treatment, leaving his 10-year-old daughter Zarina alone at home.
Around 3 p.m., he received the shocking news that his daughter had been murdered inside the house. Upon returning, he found Zarina lifeless, with a scarf tied around her neck, indicating death by strangulation.
Preliminary reports and the post-mortem revealed injuries on her body consistent with sexual assault.
The police immediately transferred the body for autopsy and registered First Information Report (FIR) No. 154/2025 on September 11, 2025, under Sections 376 (rape), 302 (murder), and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at Mastung Police Station.
Early investigations suggest that the suspects may be local residents. According to the father’s complaint, the perpetrators fled the scene without leaving clear evidence.
The grieving parents are devastated by the loss of their daughter.
Speaking to Express News, the father said, “I never imagined my innocent daughter would endure such suffering.
I went out for treatment and returned to find only her body. I seek justice from God.” The family has criticized the police for delays in action and demanded immediate justice.
Following news of the incident, local residents expressed outrage and surrounded the police station, after which authorities assured them that the suspects would be apprehended soon.
Police stated that the case has been registered under murder and sexual assault provisions, and investigations are ongoing.
According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mastung, evidence from the house, local witnesses, and DNA testing will help identify the suspects.
