Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Peace and Justice: CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza

Rawalpindi— Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), attended the closing ceremony of the Islamabad Symposium 2025 as the Chief Guest.

The event was organized by the National Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS) at NUST.

Addressing the participants, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza expressed gratitude to all speakers and panelists for their valuable contributions.

He highlighted the rapidly evolving global and regional landscape, emphasizing Pakistan’s proactive role in promoting peace and stability across the region.

The CJCSC reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining balance between the Global North and Global South through dialogue, dignity, and principled diplomacy.

Underscoring the importance of replacing confrontation with cooperation, General Mirza said that Pakistan’s foreign policy remains guided by a vision of peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect and international law.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the just and peaceful resolution of longstanding disputes, including Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir.

He further stated that Pakistan, positioned at the crossroads of regions and civilizations, continues to exercise restraint and encourage constructive engagement to bridge divides and promote a just, equitable, and balanced global order.

The symposium was attended by academicians, diplomats, bureaucrats, business leaders, and students from leading educational institutions.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan has been a frontline ally of the global powers working for regional peace and stability.

The armed forces of Pakistan have worked to joint missions of the United Nations aiming to counter unrest and provocations in many areas.

Pakistan has always welcomed the efforts that advocate peace, development and the prosperity of all regions.

To add more to it, Pakistan itself has lost the precious lives of 90 thousand people on the war on terror over the past two decades.

Unfortunately, Pakistan still has the challenge of the Indian-sponsored militancy via Afghanistan in the areas of KP and Balochistan.
