ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has awarded the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon General Michael E. Kurilla, Commander of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), in recognition of his great service and vital contributions toward bolstering defence ties between Pakistan and the United States.

During his official visit, General Kurilla held wide meetings with senior civil and military leadership, including President Zardari and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

These meetings were particularly focused on regional security dynamics, military-to-military engagement, and joint strategies to counter terrorism and emerging transnational threats.

When he arrived at the presidency, General Kurilla was presented with a Tri-Services Guard of Honour, a gesture underlining the high regard in which Pakistan holds the USCENTCOM chief.

The recognition of General Kurilla with one of Pakistan’s highest military honours not only acknowledges his individual contributions but also underlines the importance of the enduring defence relationship between Islamabad and Washington.
