Operation Gazab Lil Haq: PAF destroys Nangarhar ammunition depot

PESHAWAR: Pakistan has officially named its ongoing military response to cross-border aggression “Operation Gazab Lil Haq” (Wrath of the Truth), as security forces continue to strike militant installations inside Afghanistan, security officials confirmed on Friday Night.

The move comes as a direct response to Afghan Taliban unprovoked shelling on civilian settlements inside Pakistani territory by elements based in Afghanistan. The named operation signals a formal and potentially sustained military posture against militant groups operating across the border.

According to senior security sources, the Pakistani offensive has specifically targeted military facilities belonging to Taliban forces in multiple Afghan provinces. In the latest wave of strikes, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) carried out a fresh raid in the Nangarhar province, successfully destroying a key ammunition depot belonging to militant groups.

Simultaneously, significant damage was reported in the neighboring province of Paktika. In a series of precision strikes, security sources confirmed that Pakistani forces successfully destroyed two key Taliban district headquarters. The facilities, located in the Dand Pathan and Sokonu districts of Paktika province, were completely razed in the operation.

Officials described the action as a “measured and forceful response” to cross-border aggression.

“Following the unprovoked shelling that targeted innocent civilians on our side of the border, the armed forces have undertaken a retaliatory operation under the name ‘Gazab Lil Haq,'” a security official told reporters on condition of anonymity. “The military installations of the hostile elements in Afghanistan have been effectively neutralized.”

The development marks a significant escalation in cross-border tensions. Heavy clashes are currently underway in the region as the Pakistani military presses its advantage, though the full scale of the confrontation and potential casualties on the Afghan side remain unclear.

Pakistan has long urged the interim Afghan government to prevent its soil from being used for attacks against Pakistan. This latest operation, now formally named, signals a potential shift towards a more assertive and documented military posture in response to continued cross-border incidents.
